The Contra Costa Women and Girls Commission was established in 1984 to provide advice and information to the Board of Supervisors regarding the health and well-being of women and girls in the county. Women's March Contra Costa is an independent organization that does not share any leadership, decision-making input, or financial connection with Women's March, Inc. The Alameda County Commission on the Status of Women was created in 1975 to help eliminate discrimination and prejudice against women in areas such as housing, employment, health services, child care, education, transportation, credit, legal rights, and community services. The Contra Costa Women's Commission (CCCW) was formed to educate the public and advise the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors on issues related to the changing social and economic conditions of women in the county, with special emphasis on economically disadvantaged people. The mission of the CCCW is to “improve the economic situation, social welfare and overall quality of life of women in Contra Costa County.”The Women's March Against the Coast (WMCC) stands in solidarity with African American communities and other communities of color. WMCC is a local grassroots organization that is committed to promoting intersectionality and inclusion.
